Open call: Busara Promotions video team in Zanzibar

Successful applicants will be involved in the documentation and sharing of the sounds and stories behind the Sauti za Busara (Voices of Wisdom) music festival and other related events.

Interested videographers can submit their applications online. The deadline for application is 6 December 2024.

Busara Promotions has been registered as an NGO in Zanzibar since 2003, with Sauti za Busara, its flagship event, taking place every year in Stone Town during February. In 2023, the festival celebrated its 20th edition, bringing together diverse artists and audiences and building appreciation for African music.

Since its inception, the festival has become a platform for emerging African artists to showcase their talents and connect with other artists both within and outside Africa.

According to Busara Promotions, Sauti za Busara is more than just a music festival: it contributes to the growth and professionalisation of the creative sector in the region; provides learning, exchange, and employment opportunities; and promotes Zanzibar globally as a leading destination for cultural tourism.

The 22nd edition of the Sauti za Busara festival will be held in Stone Town, Zanzibar, from 14 to 16 February 2025.

The 2025 festival, running under the theme Voice for Peace, will bring together renowned and emerging bands from Africa, led by prominent artists such as Thandiswa Mazwai from South Africa, Blinky Bill from Kenya, and Tanzania’s Christian Bella & Malaika Band.
