Open call: Standard Bank Joy of Jazz launches DJ Search competition

The organisers of the 2026 Standard Bank Joy of Jazz have opened entries for a DJ Search competition, offering aspiring DJs an opportunity to perform at the festival's new Free the Jazz Stage.
The competition requires participants to create and submit a Spotify playlist featuring at least five artists from the 2026 Standard Bank Joy of Jazz line-up, drawn from different festival stages.
According to the organisers, selected playlists will be featured on the festival’s social media platforms. The winning playlist will be determined by the number of plays it receives.
The winner will earn a performance slot on the Free the Jazz Stage during the Free the Jazz Concert, scheduled to take place on 24 September 2026.
How to enter
Participants are required to:
- Create a Spotify playlist featuring a minimum of five artists from the 2026 Standard Bank Joy of Jazz programme.
- Submit the playlist link.
- Collaborate with the official Standard Bank Joy of Jazz Spotify initiative as instructed by the organisers.
