Open call: Travel grants for music projects in Germany

Eligibility

• Musicians and ensembles must be invited to Germany by collaborators based in Germany.
• Projects should include at least three events (concerts, workshops, panels, etc.).
• Projects must focus on artistic exchange and have cultural significance.
• Benefit projects, short or weekend trips, tourist travel, folklore events, or projects with political, religious, or ideological content are not eligible.

Funding criteria

• Application must be submitted by the inviter based in Germany.
• Incoming ensembles must demonstrate a high level of musicianship.
• Projects should have a coherent programme and planning.
• Sustainable travel is encouraged; preference is given to rail travel within Europe for trips up to seven hours.

• Recent audio sample (link)
• Artistic biography of the incoming ensemble
• Detailed timetable and schedule
• Invitation from the German partner
• Two travel fare quotes as proof of cost-effective itinerary
• Numbered list of participants with function, date of birth, and place of residence

Application notes

• Travel bookings made before applying are generally ineligible.
• If early travel arrangements are necessary, applicants may request dispensation, but this does not guarantee funding.
• Projects must submit applications at least three months before the project start date.
