Artists and music groups are invited to submit applications for the 2024 edition of Visa For Music (VFM), which will be held in Rabat, Morocco, from 20 to 23 November.
Now in its 11th edition, the performance and networking forum is an international music market rooted in Africa since 2014. This event, dedicated to promoting global musical diversity, with a particular focus on Africa and the Middle East, serves as a crucial platform for artists, music professionals and industry stakeholders. It provides a conducive space for networking, idea exchange and the creation of fruitful collaborations.
The celebration of the 10th edition in 2023 marked a milestone, featuring 64 concerts across nine stages and the participation of more than 1 200 professionals from 80 countries. The event also included 1 400 speed meetings, 13 conferences and workshops with the involvement of 42 international speakers.
This year, about 40 artists/groups from around the world will be selected by a jury composed of culture and music industry professionals.
This call is open to artists/groups of all musical styles, showcasing music from around the globe.
Eligibility criteria
- Age over 18.
- Existing musical project for at least one year with significant stage experience as an artist.
- Project for a 40-minute original live music concert.
- All artists are encouraged to apply, including those who have applied in the past without being selected.
- Artists who have previously participated in a VFM edition and now present a new project are also welcome.
- Only complete applications submitted by the deadline will be considered.
Conditions of support after selection
- VFM does not apply any participation fees.
- VFM does not cover the travel expenses for the selected artists.
- VFM covers the transfer to/from the airport for selected artists and provides accommodation for a maximum of six group members.
- VFM offers a stipend in Moroccan dirhams on the day of the concert and does not cover artist fees.
To apply for the 11th edition of VFM, artists should:
- Complete the online form and attach all the required documents.
- Download, sign, and attach the application rules in the form.
The application deadline is 18 March.
