Panel discussion: Touring in Africa

During this particular panel discussion – attached below – festival organisers spoke about the state and challenges of touring circuits in Africa while taking questions from audience members about the steps musicians needed to take to participate in various events. The organisers provided ample information, and clarification, about the channels that artists had to open in order to be considered for some of Africa’s top festivals.

Panelists included Ade Bantu of Afropolitan Vibes (Nigeria), Jess White of Azgo Festival (Mozambique), Yusuf Mahmoud of Sauti za Busara Festival (Zanzibar) and Faisal Kiwewa of Bayimba Festival (Uganda). The discussion was moderated by Ethiopian musician and activist Munit Mesfin.
