Runtown set for ‘Runtown Experience Kigali’ concert

The ‘Mad over You’ hit maker will share a stage with Uganda’s Sheebah with whom he collaborated with in a yet to be released single ‘Weekend’.

In an activation video on Youtube, Runtown promised a thrilling live performance with his band. He also shared a message on Instagram and shared the poster of the show. “Rwanda, save the date, coming through with the band,” he posted.

The concert dubbed Runtown Experience Kigali, has been organized by Factory Africa an events management company which has organised shows across East Africa.

"This concert comes to utilize the growing field of entertainment in Rwanda. It will be a great experience for whoever turns up. We want Rwandan people to have a blast," said Collin Mugabo, the chief executive officer of Factory Africa.

Mugabo who is Sheebah's promoter in Rwanda, said that he plans to bring bigger shows to Kigali so as to make Kigali a leading destination for revellers. He added that the concert was organised because of the steadfast growth of the entertainment industry in Rwanda

Local musicians expected to perform are Charly & Nina, Bruce Melody, Yvan Buravan, Urban Boyz, Oda Paccy and Active. Ordinary tickets are going for $5 (Rwf5 000) for ordinary, $11 (Rwf10 000) for VIP, $29 (Rwf25 000) for VVIP and there is a 20-seat table going for $ 476 (Rwf400 000).

The show is scheduled to begin at 3pm until midnight, revelers will be served with lots of refreshments and nyama choma Swahili for roasted meat.
