SA: 5FM radio and Academy of Sound Engineering announce partnership

The initiative, titled 5 Listening Sessions powered by the Academy of Sound Engineering, revives a successful pre-pandemic series, offering music fans an intimate experience where artists perform their biggest hits and latest releases while sharing insights into their careers. The relaunch promises a higher level of technical precision and creative engagement.

Under the collaboration, 5 Listening Sessions will be held monthly at ASE’s state-of-the-art live production facility, SABC Radio Park Studio V1A. ASE students will take on technical production responsibilities, allowing them to apply their skills in a real-world setting. Organisers said the initiative not only provides invaluable industry experience for students but also enhances the production quality, delivering a more immersive experience for 5FM listeners.

Both 5FM and ASE expressed their commitment to elevating the project, saying they would leverage cutting-edge technology and industry expertise to create impactful content that benefits audiences while equipping students with career-defining opportunities.
