SA: Ami Faku’s ‘Into Ingawe’ is certified Gold

The development comes before the release of her debut album Ndikhethe Wena at the Boardwalk Amphitheatre in Port Elizabeth.

‘Into Ingawe’ is a slow tempo song that resonates with the masses as it dabbles between gospel synths and uplifting maskandi sounds. Faku sings in her native xhosa language, disseminating a sense of victory, hope and purpose to the usual everyday struggles. The song was released in June and has more than 1.2 million YouTube views.

Faku is undoubtedly one of the most talented singers in South Africa who finds her solace in modern Afropop. With influences from such artists as Daniel Caesar and Sabrina Claudio, her sound is unique and resonates with most artists.
