SA: Benny Afroe releases Yours Truly EP

The eight-track offering is available for streaming and download on all major digital platforms. It features songs like ‘Nguwe’, ‘Kill Me’ and ‘Melody’. Artists featured on the EP include Sjava, Manu WorldStar, Zingah and King Monada. Yours Truly is fused with R&B and pop beats, and is set to position Benny Afroe as a rising talent to watch out for.

“A part of me felt like l was writing a heartfelt letter with every song I wrote,” Benny Afroe said. “It had me thinking every heartfelt letter usually ends with ‘yours truly’ at the end of the page, and that’s how the name came about.

“After going back and forth with my team trying to perfect each and every song, I’m excited about how the project turned out. There is nothing I would change, and I know it will be well received.”

Benny Afroe described Yours Truly as his best work to date. “It’s an amazing body of work. I’ve really put my heart and soul into this project. The diversity of sound and melodies from featured artists is what makes it so unique.”

Benny Afroe’s love for music was heavily influenced by his father, a bass guitarist who played for a number of South African bands in the 1990s. He has worked with local artists like Ami Faku, DJ Qness, Afrikasoul, DJ Mlu, Bass Mdlongwa and Mrs Dippy.
