SA: GoodLuck partners with FlySafair for upcoming concert series
18 Oct 2022 - 10:24
South African band GoodLuck has inked a deal with airline company FlySafair ahead of its annual concert series Get Lucky Summer taking place in the Western Cape from December.
Now in its eight edition, the series is the brainchild of the electro trio, and features some of the best artists from South Africa. This year's edition will include top artists such Msaki, Prime Circle and The Kiffness.
As part of the event’s programmes, the group has arranged four concerts slated for Plettenberg Bay from 18 December to 8 January.
“It’s awesome to be part of such a dynamic partnership and to see a successful local airline standing in solidarity with local entertainers,” band founder and producer Ben Peters said. “Ultimately this collaboration will have positive effects beyond just our pairing, as the local economies of the town we perform in will benefit from the visitors we bring.”
FlySafair’s chief marketing officer, Kirby Gordon, says the deal was struck in anticipation of a spike in air travellers over the festive season in South Africa.
“We’ll be operating 141% of the seats from last year which is actually a 61% growth on Summer 2019’s pre-pandemic levels. Sales in December departures are looking very strong already, far more so than this time last year.”
