South African artists TNS and Kasango have released a video of their collaborative Afro-tech hit track ‘Sikelela’ featuring Bukeka.
‘Sikelela’ chronicles the abuse of women and children in South Africa, and in the video the artists implore the audience to stand up against the social vice.
“This song aims to raise awareness about the high rate of abuse and killings happening around us and why we must do something to stop it,” a statement from TNS and Kasango says. “Even as they effortlessly keep us entertained on our local dance floors, the artists also want to empower the nation.”
TNS, born Nkazimulo Ngema, is a talented South African house producer and songwriter who has built a strong brand over the years. He is credited for producing hit songs like Prince Kaybee’s ‘Club Controller’ and ‘Banomoya’ in 2017.
In 2019, TNS released his first official single ‘My Dali’, which topped local radio station charts. He went on to sign a deal with Sony Music Africa Entertainment and released his album Madlokovu King in 2019. The album was a fulfilment of his long-awaited dream and honours his grandparents who raised him and supported his musical journey.
His single ‘Umona’ reached gold status and charted for more than 33 weeks on radio in the Top 100 Airplay Charts, while its video generated over 7 million views on YouTube.
