SA: J’Something announces six shows in Cape Town, Durban and Joburg
16 Aug 2022 - 12:30
South African artist J’Something has announced his upcoming Indoor Tour that will go to the Homecoming Centre in Cape Town, The Bond Shed in Durban and Vodaworld in Johannesburg in September, October and December, respectively.
The tour was inspired by J’Something’s 10-track mixtape Indoor that he made together with industry friends. The project was produced and directed by J’Something alongside Sergio Botelho and the Jazzworx team.
Drawing from artists who have inspired and shaped him, the mixtape features artists, including Roy Orbison (‘Pretty Woman’), De Mutha & Njelic (‘Shesha Geza’), Stimela (‘Zwakala’) and Mi Casa (‘Church Bells’).
“I started working on this project at the very beginning of lockdown,” J’Something said. “After years of touring, performing and sharing music with people, to being told that entertainment was the least essential craft.
“As a professional, a talented, hardworking artist who had put their whole life into their craft, this was the most hurtful thing to be told. That is why Indoor is very close to my heart, it kept my fire burning through the lockdown, gave me direction and purpose in my craft. And now that it’s finally ready, I can’t wait to share it with the world.”
The tour is supported by Stella Artois and Vodacom Red.
Stella Artois South Africa marketing manager Estee Burger said: “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be supporting J’Something on this tour. He is an artist who consistently helps shape culture and the Indoor Tour reflects everything we stand for as a brand in forming meaningful connections and savouring moments with those who matter most.”
Vodacom executive head of division: segment marketing Katleho Mahloane said: “Indoor with J’Something is exactly what our signature experiences are about. Fuelling our Vodacom Red clients’ passion for music with something extraordinary.”
