SA: Kirk Whalum to headline 2026 Gauteng Soul and Jazz concert

US jazz saxophonist Kirk Whalum will headline the 2026 Gauteng Soul and Jazz Concert, set to take place at Sunbet Arena on 13 June 2026.
The event, organised by Remoakantse Holdings, will feature a mix of South African soul, jazz, and Afro-pop artists alongside the Grammy-nominated musician.
The line-up includes South African artists Judith Sephuma, Lira, Zonke and Mafikizolo, promising an evening of powerful performances and musical collaborations. The concert has established itself as a highlight of the country’s live music calendar, known for its high-quality production and sophisticated audience.
“South Africa holds a special place in my heart,” Whalum said. “The energy, the audiences and the deep love for music make every visit unforgettable. I’m truly excited to be part of the Gauteng Soul and Jazz Concert and to share the stage with such incredible artists.”
