SA: Lira to play Lyric Theatre in Johannesburg

The event is organised by Bassline Live, with Lira being the first artist in 2020 to perform at the well-known concert series.

Lira was at the 62nd Grammys in LA last month and says seeing the big awards ceremony in person inspired her to take her career to the next level.

"I'm steadily building a career in the US,” Lira said. “My ultimate dream is to win a Grammy, and having experienced my first Grammy ceremony I feel like the dream is attainable.

She also says that she’s been working on new songs in the US. “I’m writing new music constantly and I’m working with some of California’s best producers. I look forward to sharing some of the new music with South Africa.”

Bassline Live's management said Lira would perform many of her popular songs at the 7 March show.

“Be prepared to be inspired and to have a wonderful and memorable time,” Bassline Live said. “Don’t miss this one-night affair with Lira and her six-piece band, performing songs from all her albums, including Born Free, and sharing with the audience her trials, tribulations and most especially her many celebrations.”
