SA: Listen to Melodic Bman’s single Ngaphandle

Written by Melodic Bman, ‘Ngaphandle’ was recorded, engineered and produced by TT Beats. It is off his upcoming seven-track EP Born For This, which is set for release on 21 October.

Other tracks on the EP include ‘Big Smoke’, ‘Ekseni’ and ‘Phezulu’, with collaborations from KashCPT, Flash Ikumkani, Guy Onke and BhutLegend.

“The message in the song is that regardless of any challenges you’re facing in your life, don’t let them get in the way of what you are trying to achieve,” Melodic Bman told Music In Africa. “I made this song at a time when I was experiencing a lot of difficulties and struggles in my music career. Trying to achieve success can sometimes be difficult. Nobody can take away your talent so better use it before it’s too late.

“I had some personal problems I was facing around the time of this recording and I felt like quitting, as they were making me despondent. That’s what inspired me to do this song, to face and address those issues directly and to remind myself exactly who I am.”

Born Milonde Nama, Melodic Bman said he enjoyed working with TT Beats. “Working with TT Beats is always a great experience because I feel like he understands me as an artist and the way I work, and he gives me freedom to express myself in the most creative way,” he said.
