Cape Town-based South African singer Tyler Page has released a remix of ‘If It Wasn’t 4u’ featuring local rapper Kiddo CSA.
The Asian-inspired track is accompanied by a universal message of being saved. Alongside the poetic cadences by Kiddo CSA, the collaborative endeavour among the two Warner Music labelmates embodies the importance of true friendships.
“Tyler’s verse translates into many of life’s facets and even life itself,” her management team said. “Life, the beautiful beast it is, often offers moments where happenings initially appear seemingly tragic at the time, but in hindsight, helped fashion a better version of you.
Kiddo CSA’s verse, meanwhile, is a juxtaposition to the prior verse, rooted in the physical.
“Kiddo’s verse is a record of the manner in which relationships come to be, are nurtured, and in essence, facilitate the growth of each participant. Unlike Tyler’s verse, Kiddo highlights how relationships often allow their partakers to grow and that any ‘rescuing’ to occur in this context is not unidirectional but reciprocal.”
