South Africa-based Kenyan artist and producer M. Rumbi has released the remix to his 2020 single ‘See Me’, off his upcoming EP See Me. Si Me. Reimagined.
‘See Me (Remix)’ is a testament to M. Rumbi’s artistic growth and evolution. The track, the 14th in his year-long plan to release one song every two weeks, showcases his rap skills under his moniker City – the one half of the Kenyan-South African creative duo BasicCity.
With its transformed sound and renewed energy, this reimagined version demonstrates M. Rumbi’s dedication to continuous artistic exploration.
See Me. Si Me. Reimagined revisits and reworks M. Rumbi's previous double project, See Me. Si Me, which gained significant acclaim upon its release in 2020. The EP takes listeners on a journey of introspection, love, loss and self-discovery, with its soulful melodies, rap elements and intricate instrumentation.
M. Rumbi has gained recognition with features on popular Spotify editorial playlists such as ALTER-native and Borderless, with his singles ‘More’ and ‘Less’ amassing over 242 000 streams.
His unique musical style and captivating storytelling have seen him perform at prestigious venues and events, including The AHADI Experience and The National Arts Festival. He has also been featured in respected publications like The Sunday Nation and Native magazine.
