Emerging South African Afrohouse producer Mathousand16 has released a new single titled ‘Imfanelo’, marking his latest contribution to the genre.
The track, described as a love song, centres on themes of destiny and emotional connection. It explores the idea of a relationship shaped by fate, with lyrics focused on trust, commitment and the belief that some bonds are predetermined.
‘Imfanelo’ features contributions from Big Xhosa, Ivee Soul and Shaw Komori. Production is credited to Mathousand16 in collaboration with ProgresyvCPT.
The song combines elements of Afrohouse and soul, incorporating rhythmic production with live instrumentation, including trumpet arrangements. The collaboration brings together a mix of vocal and instrumental contributions intended to broaden the track’s sound beyond conventional dancefloor music.
Mathousand16 is part of a group of emerging artists working within the Afrohouse genre, which has seen increased international exposure in recent years. His work typically blends rhythmic structures with melodic and narrative elements.
‘Imfanelo’ is available on digital streaming platforms.
