South African rapper Nadia Nakai has featured fellow hip hop artist Lucasraps in a new single titled ‘Not The Same’.
The track produced by Soko7 and Kronik is available for download and streaming on all major digital platforms.
‘Not The Same’ is a traditional hip hop flex fused with residual tinges of pop that puts Nadia Nakai in a position of power. The record expresses Nadia Nakai’s essence as something which cannot be duplicated. Both rappers boast about their economic power by name-dropping luxury brands.
While the track is at its core a diss song, Nadia Nakai maintains that she operates in her own lane without malicious intent.
“The track itself is about feeling yourself, speaking your sh*t, basically saying that you’re not coming out unless your cheque is paid and that when you do your presence is the present,” Nadia Nakai said.
Born and raised in Johannesburg to a Zimbabwean mother a South African father, Nadia Nakai attributes her love for hip hop music to Kenyan female rapper Nazizi whom she met while studying in Kenya.
