South African Afropop singer Zee Nxumalo has released her single ‘Hamba’.
The track is available for streaming and download on all major digital platforms.
“I'm so excited to be finally doing things at such a high level,” she said. “I may only be 19 years old, but I’ve been pushing and hustling since I was 13.
“I think I’m ready to show people what I’m capable of and I can't wait for them to hear this new single. It’s the natural follow-up to my debut single ‘Siyajola’ and it speaks of a complicated and ongoing love story that young people especially can relate to.”
She said there would be a lot more music on the way. “I’m going to be compensating for all the years I wasn’t dropping enough music. Expect more content, and just more of Zee Nxumalo.”
Nxumalo is featured on Zandimaz’s single ‘Maphupho’, which went viral on TikTok with more than 100 million views.
Nxumalo grew up in the Alexandra township in Johannesburg. She recently joined forces with independent record label Punchline Media to officially launch her solo career. She draws inspiration from Kelly Khumalo, The Soil and Brenda Fassie.
