Legendary South African producer, DJ and music entrepreneur Oskido will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 32nd South African Music Awards (SAMA32), adding to the RiSA Chairperson’s Award he received at SAMA30.

The SAMA32 ceremony is scheduled to take place on 15 August 2026 at the Sun City Superbowl in the North West province.
Oskido, whose career spans several decades, has played a significant role in the development of South Africa’s dance music scene as a producer, DJ, record executive and entrepreneur. His recognition with the Lifetime Achievement Award places him among South African music figures whose careers have had a lasting influence on the country’s music industry.
At SAMA30, Oskido received the RiSA Chairperson’s Award for his contribution to South African music as a music executive, producer, entrepreneur and cultural pioneer.
SAMAs spokesperson Unati Gwija said the Lifetime Achievement Award was intended to recognise artists and industry figures whose work had influenced successive generations.
“The Lifetime Achievement Award is more than a recognition of longevity; it is a celebration of those whose artistry has shaped the soundtrack of our nation, inspired generations and paved the way for the next wave of South African talent,” Gwija said.
The award, she added, highlighted the importance of recognising influential figures during their lifetimes.
The 2026 ceremony is backed by several public and private-sector organisations, including the Motsepe Foundation, the North West Department of Arts, Culture, Sports and Recreation, the North West Department of Economic Development, Environment, Conservation and Tourism, SA Tourism, SABC, SAMPRA, SAMRO, CAPASSO, RiSA and RiSA Audio Visual.
The event is also expected to contribute to tourism and economic activity in the North West by attracting music fans, industry professionals, media and other visitors to the province.
“By bringing together iconic artists, emerging talent, industry leaders and thousands of music lovers from across the country and beyond, the festival stimulates tourism, boosts local economic activity and creates meaningful opportunities for small businesses, creatives, entrepreneurs and the hospitality sector,” Gwija said.
“It also invites visitors to experience the North West’s world-class attractions, rich cultural heritage and renowned hospitality, ensuring that the economic and social benefits of SAMA32 extend well beyond the awards stage,” she added.
