SA record label makes history at Major Lit Sessions in Botswana

A South African record label, Ambitiouz Entertainment, is set to make history as all of its artists will be headlining the first Major Lit Sessions festival to be held at the Stanbic Bank Piazza in Gaborone, Botswana, this Friday 21 October.
The event will be the first time artists on the record label will perform together outside South Africa. The lineup includes Emtee, Fifi Cooper, Saudi, Sjava, A-Reece, Miss Pru, DJ Citi Lyts and B3nchmarq.
Fifi Cooper, Miss Pru and Emtee are the only artists from the record label who have performed in Botswana.
The artists come to Botswana at a time when trap music is getting popular among Gaborone urbanites. Local Botswana artists such as Scar, DJ Izzy, NT Base, BK Proctor, Darkboy, Cyrus Da Virus, Nippy, Rome Stunner, Tyler Blaid, Strickly House Bound, Stunna, Real Tonez, Randy Slic, Sean Ramzy, Staxxx and DJ Lunchbar will be supporting acts.
Speaking on behalf of his crew, award-winning rapper Emtee said it will be an honour to perform in Botswana: “I have performed in Botswana once or twice but getting an invitation to come and perform with the whole crew is such an honour,” he said. “I am really grateful and honoured to be back in Botswana…I guess my label mates will say the same.”
Addressing the media, Bruce Nkgakile, head of Uvalelo Holdings, organisers of the Major Lit Sessions, said that the event is a first of its kind as they are beefing up the quality of entertainment in Botswana.
“Major Lit Sessions are premium or uptown events as you can see how the lineup is set up,” said Nkgakile.
He also said that 10 percent of funds generated from the festival will be donated to underprivileged families.
