SA: SATMAs extends nomination deadline

The public has been encouraged to submit their nomination forms to nominate their favourite artist, group, radio station, DJ, listener or programme. The form can be downloaded on the SATMAs website.

To be eligible, artists or groups must have recorded their albums between March 2016 and February 2017. The completed nomination forms must be sent to the SATMAs head office accompanied by a CD/DVD, photograph and a biography by 21 July.

Applications should be sent by courier or hand delivered to Building A, Ground Floor, Glenwood Office Park, 294 Sprite Avenue, Faerie Glen, Pretoria, 0081.

The nominees will be announced on 12 August at the Durban International Convention Centre Arena. The public can also vote for their favourite artists by SMSing ‘SATMA’, name of the potential nominee and category to 34066. SMSs costs R1.50 (free SMSs do not apply). There are also five vehicles to be won and R20 000 per winner, as well as two overseas trip.

This year’s event will acknowledge and celebrate the pioneers of traditional music for preserving and exhibiting the indigenous music of South Africa. For more information visit the SATMAs website.
