SA: Yallunder thrilled with SAMAs nomination for Ndinovalo remix

The nomination marks a significant milestone for Yallunder as it is her first major nomination in the industry, and her first prominent song outside of her collaborative work in the dance music genre.

The new version of the song is taken from Mörda’s 2022 debut album Asante, while the original version is off the 2020 compilation album iSambulo by the 1020 Cartel.

‘Ndinovalo (New Version)’ will be up against stiff competition in the category from other tracks by the likes of K.O, Citizen Deep, Karyendasoul, Myztro and more.

‘Ndinovalo’ is derived from the Xhosa language and translates to “I have fear”. This emotionally charged track delves into the depths of a troubled soul that bravely acknowledges its pain and vulnerability. It resonates with Yallunder’s constant pursuit of self-healing, self-comfort, and her desire to extend this healing to others through her music.

The annual event is organised by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) to celebrate the achievements in the South African music industry. The #SAMA29 ceremony will be held in at the Durban International Convention Centre on the weekend of 17 and 18 November 2023
