SAMAs announce 2024 nominees for public voting

The Motsepe Foundation Record of the Year category is dominated by amapiano anthems, including ‘IPlan’ by Dlala Thukzin, ‘Imithandazo’ by Mthunzi and Kabza De Small, and ‘Sgudi Snyc’ by De Mthuda featuring Da Muziqal Chef and Eemoh.

Tyla’s ‘Water’ has made waves worldwide, while Tyler ICU’s ‘Mnike’ sparked a viral dance challenge. Amapiano star Lowsheen has also made a strong showing, with two nominations in the Music Video of the Year category for ‘Thula’ and ‘Uthando Lwakho’, both collaborations with Master KG. The category also showcases a diverse range of genres, with nominees including the late AKA, Nasty C, Mörda, Oscar Mbo, Blxckie, and Lwah Ndlunkulu.

“It is with great pride that I salute all the artists who have been shortlisted as nominees for Motsepe Foundation Record of the Year and RAV Music Video of the Year awards,” RiSA CEO Nhlanhla Sibisi said. “Artist recognition is an important and significant pat on the back, and we continue this tradition in our 30th year of existence.
