SA’s Toss named Apple Music Up Next artist

Toss will be featured across Apple Music’s South African Up Next playlist, which features a dynamic class of new and emerging artists, thoughtfully handpicked by Apple Music editors from around the world. The playlist is genre-agnostic and represents a line-up of artists Apple Music’s global editors are passionate about and eager to expose to a larger audience.

“When I was told that I would be featured as the Up Next artist, I was speechless,” Toss said “It is wild. I am still amazed at how much a year could have changed my life and humbled by the support I have received from the likes of Apple Music.”

With his deep, hip hop-rooted timbre and engaging dance moves, Toss has quickly established himself as one of the most exciting and promising new artists in the scene.

As a result of the release of ‘Umlando’ in January 2022 alongside with 9umba and Mdoovar, Toss sparked a dance craze of the same name across the country, earning the trio a South African Music Award for Viral Song of the Year.

With the release of his debut EP Umlando (2022), he reaffirmed his passion for storytelling through music, and with the release of his new single ‘Tetema’ with Young Stunna and Tyler ICU, he has put his newfound success into practice.
