Sho Madjozi wins Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award

South African musician Sho Madjozi won the Favourite African Star Award against Patricia Kihoro (Kenya), Shekhinah (South Africa) and Teni (Nigeria). The award marks Sho Madjozi’s second international victory following her triumph at last year’s BET Awards in the Best New International Act category.

South African actor and comedian Prev Reddy came tops in the Favourite African Social Media Star category against DJ Cuppy (Nigeria), Anne Kansiime (Uganda) and Chané Grobler (South Africa).

The Favourite Global Music Star Award went to Taylor Swift (US) who beat Sho Madjozi (Africa), BTS (Asia), Dua Lipa (UK), J Balvin (Latin America), Rosalía (Europe), and Tones and I (Australia).

"This incredible win comes at a crucial time for us as the continent observes and celebrates Africa Month," senior vice-president and general manager at ViacomCBS Networks Africa Monde Twala said. "Nickelodeon puts kids first in everything that it does and the kids have spoken and voted for their favourite stars. We would like to congratulate our African winners Sho Madjozi and Prev Reddy for flying the African flag high at this global event."
