Sony Music Entertainment Africa (SMEA) has launched two new features – Real Time Earnings and Cash Out – on its Artist Portal, which allow artists to view and withdraw earnings.
The company says the Real Time Earnings tool is available anytime, anywhere and provides artists with immediate updates about their global earnings and account balances.
Real Time Earnings is said to eliminate the need to wait for periodic reporting cycles to view royalty earnings and account balances. Artists can also use analytics on the portal to interpret data while enabling easier and faster insights into their earning trends.
Cash Out, meanwhile, allows artists to request a withdrawal of all or a portion of their payable balance every month, with no hidden fees or charges.
Artists can access these functionalities by downloading Sony's Artist Portal app on the App Store or Google Play.
"The high level of transparency and efficiency in these tools is aimed at making doing business between us clearer, faster, simpler and more direct for our artists and partners and it comes at a time when we all need as much of that as we can get," SMEA managing director Sean Watson said.
SMEA recently announced a joint venture with Celebrity Services Africa, which will facilitate existing artist brand opportunities and develop new talent on the continent.
