Stromae to thrill fans in Rwanda after Kinshasa concert

To continue his African tour that he embarked on in May 2015, Stromae had his Congolese fans on 10 October 2015 swaying to his eclectic performances at the Hotel Pullman in Kinshasa, DRC. For his long-awaited appearance in Congo, Stromae also gave a press conference where he apologized extensively for the cancellation of his show in June.On 17 October Stromae completes his current tour in Rwanda, his father's homeland. This will also mark the end of his tours around his second studio album, Racine Carrée released in the summer of 2013.

Stromae’s debut album was released in 2007 but his breakthrough came in 2009 when the song 'Alors on Dance' became a hit all over Europe. His music style can’t be described in one word: it’s a mixture of rap, hip hop, electronic with African influences. His songs are mostly about social themes and some of them are even about personal experiences.

Since the release of his Racine Carrée album more than 3.5 million copies of the album have been sold. Year 2015 was his live debut in the United States with concerts in Chicago and Texas and based on the success of his last concert in New York, more concert dates will probably be announced. His tour on the African continent and the forthcoming concert in Kigali are particularly symbolic for the author of ‘Papaoutai’, whose father died during the 1994 Rwandan genocide.
