Sunny Ade’s guitar auctioned at concert

At the concert, his vintange fender guitar was auctioned under direction of Dr. Jogun Onabanjo, Certified Auctioneer and Chief Executive of Onabanjo and Onabanjo & Co. The guitar had been desigined by Nigerian visual artist, Victor Ehikhamenor, who pattered the yellow body with his signature black markings. The bidding started at 9 million naira and closed at 52.1million naira.

The bid for the gutiar was won by Tunde Folawiyo, son of late Nigerian businessman, Wahab Folawiyo. He is the managing director of Yinka Folawiyo Group and also serves as Director of MTN Nigeria Ltd.

The concert also featured performances from a traditional troupe from Ondo state, Jeff, winner of the 2015 MTN project fame, Nikki Laoye, Darey, Omawumi, Shina Peters, Tiwa Savage, DJ Jimmy Jatt, Iyanya, Tyson Noir, and Awilo Logomba. Onyeka Onwenu also performed 'Wait for Me' and was joined by King Sunny Ade.

DJ Jimmy Jatt played an extended before Sunny Ade took to the stage and performed some of the best hits of his 50-year career. The concert was hosted by was hosted by Funke Akindele and Lolo Omotunde of Jenifa's Diary along with comedian Tee A.

In attendace were dignitaries including Babatunde Fashola, Nigeria's Minister of Power, Works and Housing and former Lagos State governor; Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture; former deputy governor of Lagos State, Princess Sarah Sosan; Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote; Femi Otedola, chairman of Forte Oil Plc; and his Royal majesty, Oba Saheed Elegushi.
