Telecel Ghana Music Awards 2024: All the winners

Formerly known as the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) and marking its silver jubilee in 2024, the event is the most significant on Ghana’s music calendar, celebrating artistic accomplishments across highlife, hiplife, Afropop, gospel and more.

Stonebwoy, a leading favourite for the Artist of the Year Award alongside King Promise, won the top honour, dethroning last year’s biggest winner, Black Sherif. This accomplishment now ties Stonebwoy, who first won the award in 2015, with the likes of Sarkodie, VIP (now VVIP), and Kojo Antwi for the highest number of triumphs in the category.

Sarkodie claimed the title in 2010 and 2012, while VIP secured wins in 2004 and 2011. Kojo Antwi won Artist of the Year in 2001 and 2003. Hiplife veteran Okyeame Kwame has also won Artist of the Year Award twice: first as part of the Akyeame duo in 1999 and then solo in 2009.

Stonebwoy won six additional awards on the night, while King Promise secured three, most notably for Most Popular Song of the Year for ‘Terminator’. Meanwhile, Kuami Eugene also clinched three awards, including Highlife Artist of the Year and Video of the Year.

Elsewhere, highlife legend Amakye Dede took home the Lifetime Achievement Award, while Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido was adjudged Best African Artist.
