04 Jun 2026 - 11:50
Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer Tems has released the official music video for her track ‘What You Need’, taken from her EP Love Is A Kingdom, available via RCA Records/Since ’93.
The video, directed by Ayinde Anderson, presents a visual interpretation of the song’s themes, focusing on emotional vulnerability, desire and self-worth. It depicts the tension between seeking connection and maintaining personal boundaries.
The song forms part of Love Is A Kingdom, a seven-track project largely written, produced and composed by Tems. The EP explores themes of love, emotional power and personal clarity, and includes tracks such as ‘First, I’m Not Sure’, ‘Big Daddy’ and ‘Lagos Love’.
The project has been presented as part of Tems’ continued development as an independent artist, with a focus on introspective songwriting and minimalist production.
Tems, who is a two-time Grammy Award winner and Oscar nominee, has established herself as one of the prominent voices in contemporary music through a series of international releases and collaborations.
The release of the ‘What You Need’ video continues the promotional rollout of Love Is A Kingdom.
