The organisers of the annual Bayimba International Festival in Uganda have announced that this year’s event will take place from 9 to 13 August.
Organised by Bayimba Foundation and now in its 15th edition, the event will take place on Lunkulu Island on the shores of Lake Victoria. It will bring together a diverse and ever-growing audience for a celebration of creativity and culture. At the heart of the festival are musical performances featuring both local and international artists.
“From soulful melodies to energising beats, the four festival stages will come alive with a symphony of sounds from the more than 50 artists lined up to perform,” Bayimba Foundation marketing lead Paul Lemi said.
In addition to music, the festival embraces a wide range of artistic expressions. Festivalgoers will get the opportunity to witness captivating dance performances, thought-provoking poetry recitals, side-splitting comedy acts, live DJ performances, fashion exhibitions and film screenings.
Lemi added: “One of the unique highlights of this year’s festival is the chance to enjoy nature through camping. Lunkulu Island provides the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable camping experience, allowing festivalgoers to connect with the tranquillity of Lake Victoria while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of the festival.”
Bayimba International Festival has grown to become a cornerstone of the Ugandan cultural calendar. It serves as a platform for artists to showcase their talents, exchange ideas and foster meaningful connections.
“We extend a warm invitation to all lovers of music, dance, poetry, comedy, film, fashion and cultural arts to join us at the 15th edition of Bayimba International Festival,” Lemi said.
“Immerse yourself in the beauty of Lunkulu Island and be a part of an extraordinary celebration that will leave lasting memories, as our new partners have brought in fresh ideas and concepts that are sure to thrill creative arts fans. We cannot wait to share the programme with you, so stay tuned for more details.”
