Nigerian musician Tekno and Ghanaian born singer Oluwatosin Oluwole popularly known as Mr. Eazi will headline a concert on 15 September at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala, Uganda.
The two who will be perfoforming in Uganda for the first time will be the main acts at the concert dubbed Naija, Ghana to Kampala. The concert has been organized by Bell Lager in partnership with Talent Africa and Silk Events.
Speaking at a press briefing, Uganda Breweries Limited’s Head of Beers, Muzito Estella, said “Music is a platform that Bell Lager has in the past used to connect with customers. It ties in well with Bell Lager’s celebratory spirit.” She added “With the introduction of a unified music platform named Bell Jamz, we will be engaging and interacting with our customers through music in a more meaningful and exciting way. This concert will be the first effort towards that”.
Tekno and Mr. Eazi are not the first acts to perform in Uganda. In May the beer brand flew in world renowned American reggae band, Morgan Heritage. Local musicians set to perform alongside the two stars are Bebe Cool, Ykee Benda, Cindy and Navio. In February this year Mr. Eazi worked with Ugandan duo Radio and weasel and dancehall artist Pallaso in releasing a remix of his single ‘Skin tight’.
According to Estella, Bell Lager has had a long standing history with music and has through the years supported the growth of the local music and entertainment industry. In June this year Bell Lager sponsored Jose Chameleone's The Legend Hit After Hit concert which was agreat success.
Ordinary tickets are retailing for $9 (Ugsh 35 000) while VIP tickets go for $27 (Ugsh 100 000).
