Tanzanian singer and activist Grace Matata has released a video for her single 'Baby'.
“This is a very special song for me because it celebrates a mother’s love for her child. This is to all the mothers and the mothers to be,” she posted on Facebook along with a link to the video.
In a statement accompanying the release of the video, which was shot in a studio setting, Matata explains the lyrics of the new single.
“'Baby' is a work of art to highlight the joy of being a parent and understanding the responsibility that comes with it. It also wishes to remind parents that they are accountable for the next generation of leaders, teachers, healers, makers and explorers. Their job is to make sure their children reach their full potential."
The audio was released last year and used by UNICEF Tanzania as the official anthem for World Children’s Day on 20 November.
The video was produced by Innocent Mujwahuki, directed by Frank Papushka and written by Wynjones Kinye.
