The Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF) is proud of its partnership with the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) as a Strategic Implementing Partner (SIP) for its Social Employment Fund (SEF). Through this collaboration, MIAF is running a national programme that is creating jobs, addressing skills gaps, and strengthening South Africa's creative industries — in line with the SEF's overarching goal to generate work for the common good and build community value through employment, social contribution, and inclusive economic participation. Operating under the banner NEFCISA (National Employment Facility for Creative Industries in South Africa), the initiative is recruiting and training participants, matching them with host organisations, and has already placed 1 500 workers across the country — surpassing its original target of 1 000. NEFCISA is delivered through a network of 20 host organisations spanning five provinces, who are actively hosting participants and contributing to work for the common good across South Africa's creative and cultural industries. Key Objectives: Support employment and entrepreneurship in the creative industries. Offer skills development and training programmes. Foster partnerships between public and private creative sectors. Promote South African creativity at both provincial and national levels Foster community development through social contribution.

ACCES Conference and Showcase Festival is Africa's leading music industry gathering, bringing together the people shaping the future of the continent's music business. Artists, entrepreneurs, executives, investors, policymakers and cultural leaders from across Africa and around the world come to ACCES to build partnerships, exchange ideas, discover talent and create new business opportunities. Since its launch in 2017, ACCES has become the continent's premier platform for professional exchange and music market development. Combining a high-level conference with a curated showcase festival, networking, exhibitions and industry programmes, ACCES offers a unique space where creativity meets business and where African music connects with the global industry.

Music In Africa Gender @ Work is a three-year training programme aimed at upskilling and increasing the participation of female professionals in the African music sector. Launched by the Music In Africa Foundation (MIAF) in April 2019, the programme is connected to the MIAF’s ACCES music conference – a pan-African event held in a different African country every year. This connection enables the programme to reach new participants in a different African country every year. The programme marks the beginning of a more concerted effort by the Foundation to support the participation and inclusion of women in all facets of its programmes and the music sector in Africa as a whole. Over the three years, the programme will aim to address gender imbalances in the sector through training, lobbying, facilitating knowledge exchange and dialogues that foster the interest of women. The broader objectives of the programme are to: Provide industry training for women on critical music industry skills, focusing on: Stage management Electronic music production and recording Music business management Technical knowledge Provide an opportunity for both professional and aspiring women to benefit from the Music In Africa network and its broad range of activities in 2019, 2020 and 2021. Provide a solution-based platform in the form of a round table at ACCES with a view to identify challenges, discuss opportunities and lobby for the interests of female practitioners. Offer participants the opportunity to benefit from programmes offered by MIAF’s partners. Increase access to educational materials. Integrate participants in the broader ACCES programme to maximise experience and exposure to the industry. Record and present training materials on the www.musicinafrica.net, including but not limited to tutorials, templates and other best-practice materials. Communicate women-based themes that support the initiatives and messages of the programme. MAIN TRAINING ACTIVITIES Training in first country (Ghana): In the first year, participants will be trained on all aspects of stage management by a team of experienced stage managers from 10 to 17 November 2019. The programme will offer robust classroom training as well as practical, hands-on training in which participants will also be given the opportunity to manage various aspects of the ACCES performance programme. Training in second country: The second training iteration will take place at ACCES 2020 when the programme will diversify its course to include music production lessons and training on other music business topics. A round-table platform will also be introduced to coincide with the ACCES programme. Training in third country: The third training iteration will take place at ACCES 2021 in a different country, offering an advanced course. HOW DO YOU GET INVOLVED?  As a participant, facilitator or trainer: The programme enrolls up to 12 trainees every year. ACCES est organisé chaque année par la Fondation Music In Africa (MIAF) dans une ville africaine différente et offre un programme et des plateformes solides pour les artistes et leur permet de se produire devant un public diversifié de délégués locaux et internationaux, y compris des curateurs de festival, des promoteurs, des bookers, des maisons de disques et autres publics influents.

Lancé à Dakar en 2017 puis à Nairobi en 2018 et à Accra en 2019, l’événement comprend des ateliers de formation, des conférences sur l’industrie, des discours, des performances live, des sessions de réseautage, un studio d’enregistrement collaboratif, des expositions et ainsi que des visites de lieux-clé de l’industrie musicale dans la ville hôte

Qui peut postuler ?

Les showcases ACCES sont destinées aux musiciens émergents qui peuvent offrir des performances live exceptionnelles et sont prêts pour la scène internationale. Les commissaires d’ACCES recherchent également des musiciens qui bénéficieront véritablement de l’occasion pour dynamiser leur carrière à l’échelle internationale. L’événement se déroulant en Tanzanie, l’accent sera également mis sur les groupes locaux pour présenter le meilleur de la musique live tanzanienne.

  • Cet appel est ouvert aux musiciens africains (artistes solo, groupes, DJs etc.) basés sur le continent. Tous les genres sont les bienvenus.
  • Les candidats doivent être prêts à s’exporter
  • Tous les participants doivent avoir plus de 18 ans.
  • Toutes les candidatures doivent être basées sur des performances live et de la musique originale. Aucune piste d’accompagnement ne sera acceptée.

Les représentations soutenant des partis politiques ou des confessions religieuses ne seront pas autorisées.

  • Les candidats doivent être disponibles pour toute la durée d’ACCES et à se produire à n’importe quelle date (26-28 novembre 2020).
  • Les candidatures peuvent être soumises par les artistes eux-mêmes ou par les représentants des artistes / groupes (managers, éditeurs, labels, agents et promoteurs).

ACCES fournira :

  • Une modeste rémunération.
  • Un transport local (lié à la représentation).
  • Les artistes extérieurs à Dar es Salaam bénéficieront d’un hébergement (lié à la représentation).
  • Les artistes qui ne résident pas à de Dar es Salaam recevront un per diem.
  • Les frais de visa seront remboursés sur présentation des reçus.

Les artistes se verront accorder un accès complet à toutes les activités ACCES.

Les artistes seront promus sur les plateformes Music In Africa et ACCES (programme, newsletters, communiqués de presse, site Internet et réseaux sociaux).

  • ACCES fournira un son et lumière régulier ainsi qu’une back-line de base.
  • ACCES fournira une couverture médiatique.
  • ACCES fournira des outils aux interprètes et à leurs représentants pour une mise en relation avec de nouveaux contacts et publics, ainsi que des réunions B2B.

N.B : les musiciens basés en dehors de Dar es Salaam doivent être prêts à financer eux-mêmes les frais de transport vers et depuis Dar es Salaam. La Fondation Music In Africa s’efforcera d’aider les musiciens à demander un financement auprès des réseaux et partenaires disponibles, mais ne peut en
garantir le succès, alors assurez-vous que vous êtes prêt pour cela avant de postuler.

Un seul manager peut être inclus dans le groupe de voyage et bénéficier du même soutien offert par ACCES qu’aux autres membres du groupe.

Votre profil doit comporter les éléments suivants :

  • Une biographie claire.
  • Au moins trois chansons récentes.
  • Au moins une performance vidéo.
  • Au moins deux photos promotionnelles en haute résolution.
  • Des liens vers les réseaux sociaux

Processus de soumission

  • Lisez attentivement l’appel à candidatures.
  • Créez (si vous ne l’avez pas déjà fait) un profil dans la section Music in Africa Artist & Industry en utilisant ce lien : https://musicinafrica.net/user/register. Assurez-vous que votre profil est à jour, car c’est le profil que le comité de sélection examinera. Votre profil doit inclure une biographie claire, un minimum de trois chansons, une vidéo de performance en live, deux photos promotionnelles haute résolution et des liens vers les réseaux sociaux. N.B : si vous pouvez trouver votre profil déjà créé par un contributeur de Music in Africa. Dans ce cas, vous devrez suivre les étapes en ligne pour le réclamer. Une fois que vous avez le contrôle de votre profil, assurez-vous de mettre à jour les informations. Remplissez et soumettez le formulaire de demande en ligne (le lien est fourni à la fin de cet appel). Deux formulaires de demande sont fournis – en français et en anglais.
  • Les demandes par courrier électronique ne seront pas prises en compte.

NB : Le formulaire ne permettra pas aux candidats d’enregistrer et de compléter plus tard. Avant de le remplir, assurez-vous d’avoir tous les documents requis qui devront être joints.

Suite aux annonces concernant la tenue d’ACCES 2020, et aux vues de la pandémie de coronavirus (COVID-19), nous tenons à assurer notre communauté que nous suivons et évaluons de près l’évolution de la situation en vue de prendre une décision éclairée.

ACCES est à ce jour maintenu du 26 au 28 novembre 2020. La priorité absolue de la Fondation Music In Africa est la sûreté et la sécurité de notre communauté musicale au sens large et de toutes les personnes impliquées dans l’organisation de cet événement de grande envergure.
