Born 20 July 1987, Riky Rick, real name Rikhado Makhado was a South African rapper, actor, writer, composer and record producer. He was born in KwaMashu, KwaZulu-Natal. He died on 23 February 2022 at the age of 34.
His debut studio album 'Family Value's was released on 3 April 2015. Riky Rick was signed to his label and record company called Makhado Makhado Agency.
Riky Rick's interest in music began at a recording studio session with Bongani Fassie who inspired him to make his own music. Shortly afterwards he released his first single titlted 'Barbershop' which featured Da L.E.S. This was followed by 'Nafukwa' which was well-received and earned him fame. He then released 'Amantombozane' which was followed by Amantombozane (Remix) featuring fellow South African recording artists OkMalumkoolKat, Maggz, Kwesta, Ginger Bread Man, Kid X, Nadia Nakai and DJ Dimplez.
'Boss Zonke', a major debut single followed and also eaned him success. Several singles followed and these include 'Sondela', 'Fuseg', his debut studio album 'Family Values' which became a success and another single called 'Sidlukotini'.
In September 2015 his album 'Family Values' was certified Gold by the Recording Industry of South Africa for shipments of over 20,000 copies. At the MTV Africa Music Awards 2015, he won the award for best video for his hit song Nafukwa.
