Bio
Electronic music is undoubtedly on the rise in South Africa, with sub-fusion genres like Afro-Tech capturing mainstream attention. The genre is more inclusive than ever, with multiple venues and notable events allowing the genre to expand its reach beyond South African soil. Phodii is among a collective of world-class DJs breaking boundaries and growing the culture.
When Phodii isn’t on the decks, he’s either interviewing music giants on platforms like Beatport or acting as a fundamental industry liaison in the music business world by bridging the gap between his international clients and local music game players. Phodii is the co-founder of an online media platform named Pieces Africa ®, which is dedicated to spotlighting and encouraging the growth of African music and culture and integrating it with the rest of the world.
In his career as a DJ, Phodii prides himself on performing at leading events such as Ultra Music Festival - South Africa (2019), Oppikoppi (2018), Red Bull Dance Your Style Finals (2019), Trace Fest (2019), Nasty C Ivyson Tour (2018), Red Bull BC One Cypher [Johannesburg] (2022), Basha Uhuru (2021), Maxhosa SS22 Fashion Show (2021), The Gauteng Summer Cup (2017 - 2019), Da Capo In The City (2018) and many more.
