Juls drops sophomore LP Peace and Love
British-Ghanaian DJ and producer Juls has released his sophomore album, Peace and Love, which available for streaming and download across all major digital platforms.
The 18-track offering, released through LOF Collective, features over 20 guest artists and arrives seven years after his debut album Leap of Faith.
“This is an album that I’m very, very proud of mainly because of the originality and how the process of making this has been such an experience filled with pain and love,” Juls, who told Music In Africa that he is “trying to make music that lives forever” last year, said ahead of the release.
Juls – renowned for his work with a tall list of leading Afrobeats stars including Mr Eazi, Wizkid, and Burna Boy – has been a member of the Recording Academy since 2020.
“The sonics of this album are to bring peace and tranquillity wherever you choose to listen, but more importantly the message is love in many forms: lust, intimacy, feeling, thoughts, and emotion. For the last 10-plus years of making music, I’ve always tried to depict that in my music. I’m so grateful to those who worked with me on this. These are all my favourite artists right now, so it’s even more special.”
Between his albums, Juls has released several EPs, the last being Palmwine Diaries Vol. 1, published in September last year.
In June, Juls was named in this year’s POWER UP cohort, which champions Black music creators and professionals and combats racism and inequality in the industry.
