Sarz

Sarz is the stage name of Osabuohien Osaretin, a Nigerian producer. Perhaps the most prolific of Nigerian producers, Sarz has a long list of clients in the music industry. Wizkid, Reminisce, 2face, Eldee, Jahbless and Banky W are some of the artists he has produced a song or collaborated with.

Born in 1989 in Benin City in Edo state, Nigeria, Sarz attended school in the city of his birth. He turned to music after his family went through some hardship. He is said to have sold his first beat a week after he concluded production. That experience birthed what can be heard over several songs on Nigerian radio: ‘Beats by Sarz’.
In 2012, Sarz was nominated for the producer award at the Nigerian Entertainment Award but lost to Don Jazzy. Thereafter Don Jazzy handed the award to Sarz recognising the younger producer’s quality.

Sarz has enjoyed a productive relationship with artists Wizkid and Reminisce, producing several songs on both artists’ albums. He has released his own singles, ‘Samba (Beat of Life)’ (2012) featuring Wizkid and ‘Ise Yen’ (2014) featuring Reminisce among others.
