Orezi
Bio
Orezi is a Nigerian singer. Born Esegine Allen in 1986 to parents from the Niger-Delta region of Nigeria, he grew up in Delta state and graduated from the University of Lagos. The first of five children, Orezi’s career began in 2009 when he released the song ‘I no fit Lie’ which received a mild response from the public.
The following year Orezi released another single ‘High BP’. Thereafter he was featured on ‘Emoti’ with a couple other artists. A wider reach was later achieved by the artist upon the release of the song and accompanying risqué video ‘Booty Bounce’. The video featured a number of figures prominent on the Nigerian showbiz scene including Wande Coal, General Pype and Skuki.
An even wider audience was reached with the ode to US celebrity Rihanna, after whom he named the song. Later songs include ‘Shoki’ and ‘You Garrit’. His genre is reggae/dancehall and he has been nominated at several ceremonies in that category, culminating in a win at the Nigerian Music Video Awards and the South South Music Awards. He was nominated at the Headies in the Best Reggae Dancehall category.
He is working on a debut album.
