Joy Onyinyechukwu Adomaa Serwaa Adjeman, known simply as Adomaa is a female artist from Accra, Ghana. She was born to a Ghanaian father and Nigerian mother in Kaduna, Nigeria. She is the first born in a family of five children. In 2004, she moved back to Ghana where she attended Wesley Girls High School.
She sings soul music and describes her music as an exclusive mélange of jazz soul and Afro-beat. "The one genre of music that spoke first to me was jazz in 1998, when I heard the song L.O.V.E by Michael Buble from the soundtrack of the movie, Parent Trap," she said in an interview." Since then, I’ve followed the likes of Michael Buble to the sultry vintage sounds of Ella Fitzgerald, Sinatra etc.
In 2016, she released the 'Afraba' EP and won the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Unsung Artiste award. She released the single 'When it Swings (Letters to Joy)' in April 2017.
