2016 SA Hip-Hop Awards nominees: Cassper Nyovest tops the list

Now in its fifth edition, the awards ceremony will be held at Gold Reef City's Lyric Theatre on 14 December. The event will run under the theme 'Who Wants To Be A Billionaire?'.

Some of the artists who are dominating the list include Emtee, Kwesta and Fifi Cooper. Cassper topped the list with more than fifteen nominations followed by Kwesta, Emtee, Fifi Cooper, Nasty C, DJ Switch who have more than four nominations each. Other musicians with a slight presence in the list include Riky Rick, AKA, Gemini Major, Khuli Chana and Gigi LaMayne.

Public voting is open in the following six categories: Best Collaboration, Best Female, Best Male, Best Hip Hop Radio Show, Best Video and Song of the Year. In the top five categories, voting is based on the judges’ scores and public votes (60% judges and 40% public). Such categories include Best Collaboration, Best Female, Best Male, Best Video and Song of the Year. Voting in the Best Hip Hop Radio Show category is will be done online.

The 2016 SA Hip Hop Awards will premiere on MTV Base (DSTV Channel 322) Monday, 26 December.
