Additional 5 000 tickets to be released for Scorpion Kings Live at FNB Stadium
24 Jun 2026 - 11:59
Organisers of Scorpion Kings Live at FNB Stadium will release an additional 5 000 tickets on 25 June following strong demand for the event.
A limited number of hospitality packages will also be made available ahead of the concert, which is scheduled to take place on 19 September at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
The event, headlined by amapiano duo DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, has attracted significant interest since tickets first went on sale. According to organisers, more than 500 000 people joined the online queue in an attempt to purchase tickets.
The release of the additional allocation is expected to increase attendance at what organisers describe as the largest amapiano concert staged to date.
Organisers said the concert is on track to become one of the biggest music events held at FNB Stadium. If the remaining tickets sell out, the show is expected to rank among the venue's largest concerts by attendance.
The event also marks a significant milestone for the amapiano genre. Organisers said DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small would become the first South African artists, and the first amapiano performers, to sell out a stadium of this scale.
Amapiano, which originated in South Africa, has expanded beyond its local roots in recent years, gaining audiences across Africa, Europe, North America and other regions through streaming platforms, international tours and festival appearances.
Commenting on the event’s popularity, DJ Maphorisa said the occasion represented more than a single concert.
“This is bigger than us. It's bigger than one show. It’s about showing the world what South African music can do. To see so many fans supporting Amapiano at this level is something we never take for granted.”
Kabza De Small said the event reflected the growth of the genre and the support it has received from fans.
“We’ve always believed in the music and in the people who support it. To be part of a moment like this, where piano is making history, is a blessing. We're grateful to every fan who continues to grow with us.”
The final allocation of tickets will be available from 25 June through Webtickets, Pick n Pay and Boxer stores nationwide. Hospitality suite packages will be sold separately through MyTicket.
