Busara Promotions launches FuTopia, a new cultural festival in Zanzibar
24 Jun 2025 - 13:37
Busara Promotions has announced the launch of FuTopia, a new festival set to take place from 29 to 31 August 2025 in Fumba Town, Nyamanzi, on the island of Zanzibar.
Billed as the official sister event to the renowned Sauti za Busara festival, FuTopia marks an expansion of Busara’s cultural vision by blending music, art, innovation, and future-focused dialogue into a three-day celebration of creativity, community, and change.
Unlike its counterpart, which has long celebrated Africa’s rich musical heritage, FuTopia aims to broaden the cultural canvas offering a space where artists, creatives, and change-makers converge to imagine and inspire a better future.
Festival highlights include live performances from emerging and established artists, upcycled fashion shows featuring sustainable and cutting-edge designs, cultural food stalls showcasing local and regional cuisine, interactive games and activities for children and creative workshops, talks, and more.
Curated by Busara Promotions in partnership with Fumba Town, a development known for its sustainable urban living initiatives, FuTopia is described by organisers as more than just a festival. The event seeks to become a “living, breathing celebration of innovation, inclusivity, community, and joy,” Busara Promotions said. “While FuTopia may be new, it is grounded in familiar values.
“It reflects our core mission to empower creative voices, support independent thinkers, and build sustainable platforms for African talent. With the energy and creativity of our community, we believe FuTopia can grow into something truly transformative.”
With a strong emphasis on co-creation, sustainability, and cross-cultural collaboration, FuTopia promises to offer not only entertainment but also an environment for meaningful exchange and forward-thinking ideas.
Creatives can apply here to participate at the festival. More details about programming and artist line-ups will be announced in the coming months.
