Nigeria: Davido set for North America tour in June

Christened We Rise By Lifting Others, the tour will see the 'Aye' hitmaker make stops across five cities across the US and Canada, including New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and Toronto from 16 June to 25 June.

Davido joins fellow Nigerian acts Adekunle Gold, Tiwa Savage, Joeboy and Aṣa, all of whom will be on the road in North America in the coming months. The tour also follows Davido's historic sold-out show at the 20 000-capacity 02 Arena in London, UK, in March, making him one of only three Afrobeats artists to sell out the venue and the only one to do so twice.

"I miss my fans in North America so much I had to put together a short run just to come see you all," Davido said. "[There are] going to be plenty of surprises and I might preview a few songs off my new album."

In 2020, Davido was due to tour North America with his third studio album A Better Time, but had to call it off due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A multiple-award-winning artist and a leading name in Afrobeats circles, Davido is behind recent hits like 'The Best' featuring Mayorkun and the Focalistic-assisted 'Champion Sound'.
