SA: Shimza releases three-track Sunset in Pretoria EP

The project was released on 19 June 2026, shortly after the launch of Shimza’s residency at the renowned Pacha Ibiza nightclub in Spain.

The EP features collaborations with several local and international artists, including producer Demayä, vocalist Thatohatsi, producer Jnr SA and singer Jabulani Majola. Across its three tracks, the release explores Afro House and South African electronic music influences through a combination of melodic, rhythmic and vocal elements.

The title track, ‘Sunset in Pretoria’, sees Shimza collaborate with Demayä, a producer with links to France and Dubai. The instrumental track combines melodic house textures with Afro House rhythms and serves as the opening track of the project.

The second track, ‘uMa Wami’, features Thatohatsi and Jnr SA. Built around vocal performances and layered harmonies, the song brings together artists from different corners of South Africa's contemporary electronic music scene.

Thatohatsi’s appearance on the EP follows a period of commercial success for the singer, who has gained significant streaming numbers and chart placements in South Africa.

The EP concludes with ‘Entle’, featuring Jabulani Majola. The track incorporates live vocal elements and a gradual arrangement that builds towards a climactic finish.

The release arrives as Afro House continues to attract growing international audiences, with South African artists increasingly appearing on global festival line-ups and electronic music platforms.
