SA’s Hersh releases Peace of Mind EP

The nine-track release draws inspiration from Hersh’s experiences, with the title of the EP reflecting on the scope of the artist’s expansive and enigmatic style.

“I'm so happy to finally present a project I’ve been working on for so long,” Hersh said. “I really want people to vibe with this one. This project really means a lot to me and explains who I am. It’s finally ready for the world to hear.”

Featured songs on the EP include ‘On My Mind’, ‘Enough’, ‘If I Could’ and ‘Take It’.

“I have different favourites all the time, but if ‘Enough’, ‘Life With a Twist’ and ‘Everything’ are symbolic tracks of the EP. They give the listener insight to a beautiful journey that ends in ‘peace of mind,’ Hersh said.

Artists featured on the EP include KashCPT and Soulful Clay. The album was produced by Maldives and Yazan, whom Hersh met through Red Bull Studios in Cape Town.

“We have a lot of talent that people don’t get to see, and I would like to showcase that. KashCPT and I go way back, and we have a connection that is out of this world. Soulful Clay and I met last year, he’s extremely talented and he plays a range of instruments and is a brilliant producer.”

Hersh has also been selected as Apple Music’s Up Next Artist, a monthly programme aimed at identifying, showcasing and elevating rising talent.

“I am proud and honoured to be selected as the Apple Music Up Next South African artist,” he said. “It makes me happy knowing that I am doing what I love and that my music has a relatable experience or has made someone feel good. I’m all about chasing my dream and in my music I encourage people to do the same and these things help make your dream come true.”
