The organisers of Sauti za Busara have announced a change to the dates of the festival’s 24th edition, with the event now scheduled to take place from 19 to 21 March 2027.
The festival had initially been set for 11 to 14 March 2027. Organisers said the adjustment was made in consideration of the Holy month of Ramadan and Eid celebrations.
According to Busara Promotions, the decision followed consultations with relevant authorities and was intended to accommodate audiences, artists, partners and the wider community.
“This adjustment has been made in consideration of the Holy month of Ramadhan and the Eid celebrations,” the organisers said in a statement.
The statement added: “Following consultations with the relevant authorities, Busara Promotions believes that hosting the festival later in the month will provide a more convenient and inclusive environment for audiences, artists, partners, and the wider community.”
The annual music festival, held in Stone Town, Zanzibar, is known for showcasing artists from across Africa and the diaspora.
Alongside the date change announcement, organisers confirmed that applications for the 2027 edition of the festival are still open.
Artists from Africa and the diaspora have been invited to submit applications for an opportunity to perform at the festival. Organisers said the event will continue its focus on presenting original music and performances rooted in African culture and identity.
Applications for the 2027 edition are still open until 30 June 2026.
