Zim: Mr Brown drops new album King of Melodies

The album incorporates elements of lekompo alongside other regional musical styles, combining dance rhythms with melodic songwriting. According to the artist, the release explores themes including perseverance, personal growth, relationships and community.

Leading the album is the single ‘Sorry’, a collaboration with Zambian singer Yo Maps and Makhadzi Entertainment. The track brings together artists from different parts of Southern Africa and centres on themes of accountability, forgiveness and love.

Throughout the album, Mr Brown continues to blend dance-oriented production with vocal performances and songwriting that have become characteristic of his work.

Speaking about the project, Mr Brown said the album reflects the experiences that have shaped his career.

“King of Melodies is a celebration of the journey that has brought me here. Every challenge, every victory and every lesson has shaped this music. More than anything, this album is for the people who believed in me from the beginning and continue to walk this journey with me. Thank you for making this our story, our sound and our moment.”

Mr Brown has established himself as one of Southern Africa’s leading producers through collaborations with artists from across the region and a catalogue of songs spanning multiple dance music genres.
